Job alert! Event manager

04.05.26

Kaaitheater is looking for an Event Manager

Since 1977, Kaaitheater has served as a platform for contemporary performing arts, rooted in Brussels, with an international focus. We present dance, theater, performance, and music theater, often accompanied by contextual programming.

With our return in spring 2027 to a state-of-the-art building in a new arts district in the canal zone (Sainctelette), we are preparing for the next phase of our operations. This building will offer unique opportunities for collaboration with other sectors—not only
artistically but also in terms of infrastructure—including through venue rentals and events.

Guided by the motto “How to Be Many?”, Kaaitheater aims to become an open and accessible space in the city, where diverse rhythms and audiences come together and where artistic, social, and collective practices reinforce one another.

Venue rentals and events can be an integral part of this, serving as a way to activate the space, reach new audiences, and forge new partnerships. In this way, this pillar contributes to the organization’s financial sustainability. A wide range of spaces (including a 700-seat auditorium) can be used for conferences, receptions, corporate events, guest cultural productions, parties, and various forms of nightlife.

We are currently seeking an enthusiastic event manager who is eager to help shape and further develop the building’s operations.

As Event Manager, you will be responsible for the development, positioning and implementation of Kaaitheater’s venue hire and events operations. • You will develop clear, well-thought-out hire packages that align with the profile of the building and the organisation.

  • You coordinate events from start to finish: preparation, production, execution and evaluation.
  • You ensure quality, safety, accessibility and respect for the various users of the building and the surrounding area, in line with our values.
  • You liaise with internal teams (artistic, technical, catering, production and business) and proactively update our planning tool.
  • You will also be present at events as the coordinator and point of contact for all partners involved.

Profile & skills

  • You have relevant experience in event management, venue hire, hospitality or a similar field.
  • You have a basic understanding of technical matters and are familiar with the workings of the hospitality and catering industry.
  • You combine commercial acumen with strong organisational and coordination skills.
  • You are able to think strategically and conceptually, whilst keeping practical and feasible solutions in mind.
  • You feel at home in an organisation that values collaboration and experimentation.
  • You work independently, take initiative and are, at the same time, a true team player.
  • You communicate fluently and professionally in Dutch, French and English.
  • You have strong administrative skills, are punctual and methodical.
  • You are willing to work evenings and weekends.
